Academic papers on the Future of TV
We are actively involved in writing academic papers for the LinkedTV project. The project researches and develops solutions for seamless integration of television and Web content, providing an enriched audiovisual experience. One area of our R&D work that has been presented in several events and conferences is our Multiscreen Toolkit. The toolkit is used in the LinkedTV project for enabling the use of mobile devices such as tablets as a 2nd screen in combination with television. The toolkit not only extends the interactive capabilities of television, but also enables versatile prototyping of multiscreen applications using HTML5 technologies. Our working demonstrators encompass for instance, a 2nd screen application that supports viewing of time-based and spatial enrichments related to a TV program on mobile devices, as well as social interactions between viewers while watching a program.
