Noterik presented during the EUscreenXL conference in Rome the new version of the EUscreen portal (download slides). Within the EUscreenXL project Noterik works with various European broadcasters and audiovisual archives in Europe. One of the main outcomes of the projects is the improved, responsive EUscreen portal, which promotes exploration of Europe’s rich and diverse cultural history through audiovisual media.
The newly released portal is work in progress and more content and engaging functionalities will be provided during the remainder of the project. One of the main features of this release is improved responsiveness, which facilitates exploration of the content via mobile devices.
The EuscreenXL project runs until 2016 and is funded by the European Commission within the eContentplus programme. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide access to 60,000 audiovisual high quality items and metadata through the EUscreen portal and the Europeana platform. In addition, EUscreenXL will aggregate further 1 million records of audiovisual content directly to Europeana. Overall, the project aspires to make European audiovisual cultural heritage content more accessible and reusable for recreational, academic and educational uses.
