In this project citizens of Croatia from all social layers and regions are interviewed about their personal experiences in violent situations. The project covers three timeframes: World War II, the Yugoslavia period and the war of the 90s. The overall objective of the CroMe project is stimulation and empowerment of the social and individual processes of “dealing with the past” in order to improve mutual understanding in Croatia and adjacent regions. Noterik provides Oral History tools to store, index, publish the interviews and our API is used to do advanced search requires on the video database.
The CroMe project is conducted by a consortium consisting of Documenta Zagreb, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Twente University, Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) and Noterik.
